Happy Monday, everyone!
I hope you are feeling the joy and delight of spring. Seeing irises and poppies bursting out all around my neighborhood makes me so, so happy.
That energy might be infusing everything over here. I’m even so excited to get back to my novel! After about a month away from it, I have dived back in, starting at the beginning.
I printed the first section where Darla is still in Boulder. I had been disinterested in this part of the story. I wanted to get to the good stuff - Lisbon!
But I was so surprised to feel that it was good! It clipped along and I was engaged as I read. That felt great, and I also challenged myself to dig deeper. There certainly are things to tweak, combine, and delve into.
What’s fun is that ideas have resumed their bip-bopping in my mind. As I go about my days, connections stitch themselves together around the holes in the MS. This is one of the things I love about being engaged in a project - how much things develop when we aren’t looking straight at it.
This weekend, my studio got an upgrade. I replaced my Mexican dining table/art table1 with this awesome ‘executive desk’. Drawers, people, drawers! Including a file drawer. Life-changing2 for real.
