A flaccid week that ended well
I am galvanized!
Before we dive in, I want to thank everyone who ordered Her Lisbon Colors at their local library. That means a lot to me.
I’m going to ask for another big favor! Are you on Goodreads? If so, can you add Her Lisbon Colors to your Want to Read shelf? That would help me immensely.
Well, last week was kinda…flaccid in the book promo department, if I’m honest.
I was away on Monday and Tuesday, and then had to get to work on Wednesday.
We always stop in Salida for sandwiches. This time, I suggested we take lunch to the riverside park. On the way, I saw this:
FECK YES! I mean, how cool is this? Free books!!! Reading is Freedom! YESSSSSSS!1
Of course, after lunch I had to go in. I met the owner of this traveling bibliomobile, Elizabeth. We talked books and life, and I ended up with a lovely copy of Colorado author Laura Pritchett’s Three Keys. I love the cover and have not read any of Laura’s books.
Dealing with a flaccid week
I do believe in taking a break, and going to the hot springs with Steve is a serious priority for me. It was great to relax and get away from the screen.
So it was a week of tiny actions, which I decided at the beginning do count.
But I need more structure. Whenever I am struggling to do these things, I think that being more organized/focused/structured is the answer. Drop a comment if this is true for you, too.
Luckily, I have designed some structure that I think is going to really move the needle on the thing I need to do most for Her Lisbon Colors.
Power Structure for accountability
Today my Write ON group begins our 16-week writing adventure/haven together. Everyone chooses one project to focus on, including me.
I had a tough time choosing a project. I realized I don’t have the bandwidth to add a new project on; it has to be something I am already working on. It took awhile to come to this conclusion. How did I choose? What is my writing project for this autumn?
Today I will share my decision-making process in hopes it’s helpful for you when you’re trying to decide what to focus your precious energy on.
