February was a productive month. I was able to get an hour of work on the novel on most weekdays. Because of that consistency, I met my goal of working through the Milano section. There are still pieces to finish, bits and bobs here and there, but I made it through all the comments and added new scenes.
I am okay with leaving it untidy. My productive writing always happens in iterations, draft after draft, inching toward genius. instinctively I know when it’s important to move forward rather than delve in. Knowing that this draft will need a polish later makes it okay to press on.
I made a lot of progress and then took five days away for a family trip. These ‘interruptions’ often derail my clients, so I’ve spent a lot of time setting up strategies to make sure breaks don’t sideline my project. I’ll share a few here, and next week will fill you in on my March plans for the novel.
