I love throwing a party. I’m known for delicious, gorgeous and healthy food and gathering friends who always connect and befriend the other guests.
The launch party of my novel, a few weeks ago at Two Hands Paperie in Boulder, was a blast!
Of course we had good conversation, a collaborative art project, curated art supplies and of course, Her Lisbon Colors for sale.
I plan to host more events this year and next, and have developed a new, super cool workshop to accompany a free talk about the book. Contact me to join your book group to discuss Her Lisbon Colors or to bring my new workshop to your organization or bookstore.

The hard part of hosting an event like this is I don’t get nearly enough time to have the kind of conversations I want with people. I hate that! It feels rude! But it was SO fun to see so many people from my current life and my past. I was able to deploy my super ninja trick that most people struggle with…
I always remember people’s names1. Especially if I have seen it written down or have worked with someone. I LOVED the shock on people’s faces when I used their names.
I won’t be able to remember everyone, but I want to thank those who attended the launch party!
Alyson, Rob, April, Linda, David, Brian, Denise, Leslie, Carol, Skye, Giga, Judith, Stephanie, Jonathan, Ryan, Cyndi, Jordy, KC, Marella, Denise, Claudia, Lisa, Graham, Julie, Shari, Marilyn, Chris, Shelly, Ellen, Isabella, Elizabeth, Ellie, Patricia, Cindy, Wendy, Steve, Erin, Sara, Emma, Lynne, Sara, Kelli and Merle.
Forgive me if I didn’t capture your name here; your presence that night was a true delight!
Special thanks to Mia, owner of Two Hands Paperie, and Marisa, whose help that night was impeccable. Thanks also to Alyson, Rob, Jonathan, Stephanie and April for helping make the party flow so well!

A launch is just the beginning. I’ll be spending the next year spreading the word. Starting with 100 days of book promotion!
Something I learned from Dale Carnegie and live by - we love hearing our name. For me, it makes me feel closer to the person.
I wish I could’ve been there! Congratulations! 🍾
What a delight to attend the launch party! Brava! Not only did I get to help celebrate YOU, Cynthia, but I came away with the perfect book to take with me on my European vacation. Reading it inspired me; I haven't been able to stop thinking about making an illustrated journal like Darla does. I have clear memories of seeing some of your own gorgeous illustrated travel journals and I'm hoping you will offer one of your workshops for this as I'm hesitant to dive in with my paucity of artistic skills. Learning about the treasure that is Two Hands Paperie was another unexpected gift!
